The Exploding Dennis Hopper Trick

Doug recounts that special evening in May of 1983 at RICE University when during a Q&A screening of the film Out Of The Blue, Dennis Hopper performed a stunt called The Russian Death Chair with 4-6 sticks of dynamite, while a crowd of students and drag race fans looked on.

Footnotes and Follies:

This episode starts with some loose chat on the movie, Ghost Dog. Later, when listing the work of cinematographer Robby Muller, Doug failed to mention that Muller also filmed GHOST DOG!

He also pronounced it “Cinephotographer” once or twice. Stay in school, kids!
